Development

You do not need a finished technical package to start. A sketch, a photograph of a shoe you liked, an existing sample or a full tech pack are all enough for our development team to work from.

Development runs in seven stages. Concept, where the brief, the market and the price point become a drawn idea. Material, where upper, lining, sole and components are selected against that idea. Pattern, where the last and the construction are worked out together. Prototype, the first physical version, built to test shape rather than to sell. Fit, where comfort, volume and sizing are reviewed and adjusted. Sample, a buyer-ready pair made the way production would make it. Production, where the approved sample becomes the standard the line works to.

How long each stage takes depends on the construction and the material. Ask us against your specific product and we will tell you what is realistic rather than quote a number that suits everyone.
